I can not for the life of me
remember
the colors
of the dressing gown
I was focused
on the hands
sliding across each other
in the lap of celebrity
while there
in the very same room
stood Gandolf
and two other men,
who's names we never knew
and would not remember.
I spent the night

and Ian McKellen, it is true
When as the end I stood
applauding
I saw him smile
in gratitude
I spent the night in the company
of brilliance and greatness
and together
we saw Patrick Stewart nearly naked on stage.
